About the maker
Lloyd Kellett. As gyprocker, bricklayer, and general handyman he has been in the building industry for 20+ years and has always had a project on the go in the workshop.
What he does
Lloyd Kellett takes discarded metal, timber, furniture, machinery and crafts it into sculptural lighting, furniture, homewares, and art. He produces items for his retail sales, but also takes custom orders for clients. Previously Lloyd has been involved with cafe, office, and retail store fitouts. Another interesting project of note was a collaboration with Interior Designer Marie Daaboul in her winning room at Grand Designs Live 2013.
It began in December 2012 with a personal project for the home – a desk was needed for an odd nook in the home and Lloyd so enjoyed creating it from the materials he had that he decided to just keep on making.
Each piece is a one of a kind, and can be made to specifications.
The Lloyd Kellett showroom was located in Newcastle, N.S.W Australia. The showroom was part of The Emporium, a project by Renew Newcastle. As of June 2017 the Lloyd Kellett showroom in The Emporium has closed for the last time, and the building handed over to its new owners. At Present (June 2017) Lloyd is scouting suitable new premises. Lloyd Kellett will have a workshop/studio which will be open to the public by appointment.
In the meantime Lloyd is working on several custom projects from his home workshop. If you would like to organise your own custom work please call 0450028855 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
